Stephen has over 20 years of experience in advising on all aspects of the employment relationship.
An Accredited Specialist in Employment and Industrial Law and an NMAS Accredited Mediator, he has worked in associations, law firms and in government.
Stephen is skilled in providing practical, commercially focussed, frank and fearless advice across the spectrum of employment law, including unfair dismissals, adverse action claims, discrimination claims, underpayment claims, industrial disputes and privacy, and on awards and enterprise agreements.
His work on such matters has involved advocacy for clients in the Federal Court, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, NSW Court of Criminal Appeal, Supreme Court, Fair Work Commission, Industrial Relations Commission of NSW, NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Anti-Discrimination New South Wales and the Australian Human Rights Commission.
Enthusiastic about preventative training, Stephen has presented at conferences and to clients including to line managers.
He has engaged with clients on their compliance with Respect@Work and has assisted in delivering Respect@Work training, which for the past two years in particular has taken up over half of his working hours.
